Custom Projectile?

A roundabout hack that might work would be to- rather than changing what object is fired, trigger a script, which uses RUNSOC on a SOC lump which would change the behavior of the player's SLINGITEM.

The two downsides being that a player who is aware of how it works could manually switch weapons, and it breaks netplay.
 
Netplay is essential to what I'm trying to make, so no. Thanks for the suggestion though.
