What resolution do you use?

Like the topic says, what resolution do you use? I used 1680x1050 on my old dell monitor. Now im on acer I use 1920x1080.

So, what do you use?
 
ZDGamma: It's acceptable (for an answer), but it's still too small for any kind of multitasking, heh.

Desktop system is using 1680x1050 at 22 inch, and laptop is using 1440x900 at 14 inch.

I think my dad right now is using 2560x1440 or something.

I totally agree,my screen is very small but my entire PC is old(i brought it on 2002....).I think i should buy a new one.

1280x1024. Which is a bit problematic for me because xorg only detects resolutions up to 1152x864 when it probes my monitor (and with KMS enabled, it won't go any higher than 1024x768). Adding a new modeline to xorg.conf when you're still very new to Linux is a pain in the ass. That said, I do have it working.

Yes, I'm an old fart that changes his resolution about every 5 years. But it won't happen again until I replace this old CRT. It CAN do 2048x1536 though, which most LCDs still can't do...
 
1024x768@60hz, because this LCD hates me, and I can't use CRTs because they give me headaches =<

When I did use a CRT, I was using 1600x1200, though.
 
Since people are posting their frequencies on here, might as well make this statement:

60hz all the way, baby.
 
Yeah, but I don't use CRT anymore. Neither do my parents. We've moved on to LCD, since it's got widescreen and consumes far less desk space. It's also easier to see the pixels on things, unlike CRT, which has some fuzziness.

At this point, there's really no reason not to use 60hz unless you're using those 3D glasses by nVidia (in which case you'll be running 120hz).
 
Yeah, most LCDs don't have a fast enough update time (~16ms) to make anything over 60 worthwhile anyway.

I don't think you've even bothered to check LCD specs lately. I'm sure you'd be hard-pressed to find anything much higher than 5ms these days. 2ms models are also getting to be more affordable.

And it's not like CRT doesn't have its own artifacts...
