Checking this out again, everything works fine as it's supposed to. I went to the NiGHTS Special Stage and for some reason, SRB2 froze for a sec but resumed gameplay after a couple seconds. Wasn't able to recreate it but I figured I would let you know. Welcome to releases.
 
maybe it's the fact the character has the hires flag? that would be the most logical explanation i have
 
Yeah, sprite rotation with high resolution characters result in a lot of lag. This is an optimization problem from the game itself and therefore is impossible to fix from this mod.

May as well throw in HD 2.0 Knux when I finish making the base mod look good

As I have said many times, there is not a full HD 2.0 Knux. You would have no choice but to make WAIT, WALK, RUN_, GLID, CLNG, and CLMB yourself.
 
Cool, it released. I remember those RTX On and Off jokes from the Discord server. I'll test this out!
Secret found. Epic easter egg I won't reveal, though.

I don't know if it's such a bad thing, but the sprite-drawing is mis positioned making it look like this.
