I want to be a programmer of something, but as some of you don't know getting a job in a video game company is very hard, some statistics say that only the 10% of the people who do job applications get their job.
Doing a 3d game like the current ones is an heavy task that involves a lot of middleware and scripting (because many commercial middleware is now scripted), and even then they can't get it right many times, and gameplay suffers.
Not to speak of their business practices that I despise, like protection, the "infinite copyright period", their ignoring of other operating system while they just need to recompile the application most times, the ancient console business (you can buy a computer for the same cost of PS3 and it's better than it).
If I'm ever going to be a programmer, I'm likely going to do it somewhere else.
