Youtube gif program?

I'm looking for a gif creator of some kind that simply allows me to get parts of youtube videos and turn them into .gifs. I wanted to make an avatar of all.


Specifically I wanted to make an avatar of 0:51-0:53 for this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHzdsFiBbFc

Any suggestions?

Use a screen recording program like CamStudio. Import the AVI into a program like Animation Shop. Delete the redundant frames, tweak, export as GIF.

Or skip the screenrecorder's loss of general quality...
(skip loss of quality in the process of making a GIF file? Chaos Knux has gone Chaos NUTS!)
...and use DVDVideoSoft's Free Youtube Download program to get the full-quality file and continue from Blitzzo's Step 2.

If you're using Firefox (God forbid you're not) then I recommend MP4 Downloader (if you're using shitty Ocean, yes that is a link) for downloading Youtube videos, it's a one click download system that integrates straight into your browser, you get a nice little button in your toolbar that you click and everything's done.
