So! It's been a while! Just thought I'd pop in to let you guys know where I've been for the past <insert lengthy amount of time here>. Basically, I've been busy with life. I've been hanging with my girlfriend, working at school, hanging with friends, working at school, hating life, and working at school. So why do you care? YOU DON'T! Great! But I feel like showing off anyway, because I'm damn proud of my work.
Behold! Screenshots!

I'm in my senior project class in college right now, and this is what my group is working on.. a Sonic-inspired platformer. The best part? Despite the fact that I'm an avid Sonic fan, it WASN'T my idea! Go figure!
Anyway, expect a demo soon.
Expect a full game... a very long time from now. We want to release it on Xbox Indie Games, but that may be quite a ways off, because we're going to need some heavy rewrites to get the features in we want. Anyway, enjoy the teaser for now. Bai bai~

EDIT: Here's the downloads. Read a couple posts down for an explanation

Hehe, I like the title; I MAED A GAEM W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1, cept with dragons. I hope to see this on the X-Box Indie Games, I'd play it.

Rub it in... =P

Been a while since you've been around here, Shuff, nice to see you again. Any more theories to go in the long list we've discussed? =P

Neat little bit of work you have going on here, you're going to remove that white halo/fringe on it though, right?

It's been a while, you're gonna have to refresh my memory

Double post time! So, the Tech Fair was today, which is basically an event that my school holds every semester where the senior class shows off their projects. First, it's open to the public, so any students (or otherwise) can come in and have a look at the projects.. then later on in the day, judges from the relevant industries (in our case, the game industry) come in and judge each project. Ours won a general award; Second most popular student vote.. and 2 more major-specific awards; Most Marketable and Best Team Dynamics/Project planning.
So why do you care? Because that means we had to have something presentable! Which means I have something presentable! As such, I present to you, the gaem I maed with no zombies in it: http://www.sendspace.com/file/a6tsxr
And here's the version for use with the 360 controller:

To help you along, here's a quick cheat-sheet that shows the controls that we used for the tech fair. (PROTIP: The PC controls are Z for transform, X for block, C for punch, F for fireball, and Space for jump).

At the title screen, hit Enter to start the game, or hit X to see the credits. Enjoy!
Also: I'd like some serious feedback. Don't worry about hurting my feelings, I really want some serious constructive criticism here. We can't make the game better without knowing where we stand.

Also also: Don't shoot the bandaids with fireballs, it crashes the game right now.. our schedule is too hectic to fix it at the moment >_>

Any chance you can hit us up with a .ccgame for the 360 version? I'm sitting here with an unused Dreamspark XNA trial that I'd rather like to mess with. :3

the gaem I maed with no zombies in it:

i c what u did thar (and in the title).

Yeah, um, you should probably sort out your sprites, a lot of them have little white specks in random places outside the character. Also, the fireball vs. the caterpillars... doesn't do much? :<

In regular form, the character seems to kinda slide across the ground when you let go of the arrow keys. Could you tighten his controls a bit?

also thanks for placing that band-aid in just the right spot and making me shoot it without realizing I did :<

The game needs some serious optimization before I can distribute the 360 version.. it runs about 1 frame every 5 seconds.. I'm profiling it to find the issue as we speak :P
As far as slippery-ness goes, is that not the way Sonic plays? That's what the idea was, anyway.
