There's nothing stopping you beyond your own bandwidth and hard drive space! If you're interested in playing an older version of SRB2 and to try out the mods for it, go right ahead. There's a reason we keep an outdated releases section up, after all.

It's at the site itself. Look for the words Archived Versions.

I'm interested in playing 2.1 for the old wads but I'm on Mac OS but only the Windows version seems to appear on the archived releases.
