Is looping tracker music actually supported by SRB2?

The sound and music tutorial page in the wiki implies it is, but MOD music that loops correctly in SLADE and OpenMPT doesn't loop at all in-game, it just starts over when it ends.
 
Blame SDL_Mixer, it's explicitly for some reason in it's source code, and a workaround that can be applied from the game's side of things is very hacky, which I doubt the developers would approve of. Alternatively, SDL_Mixer can be patched to support it.
