SRB2 Linux Packages/Repos for RPM-based and DEB-based

Still having problems with this thing on CentOS.

The guy i'm trying to help tells me the installer got farther this time, then hit this brick wall:

srb2-repository and srb2-data still need to be updated, I'm afraid. Those are more difficult to change. The srb2 package should work fine on his CentOS computer.

I have a stupid question:
Why can't i use the mouse with SRB2 on linux? It won't work! It works on the menus (wich is pointless) but does not work on gameplay!
(P.S. I'm using kubuntu)

force mousegrab

pass -mousegrab to the SRB2 binary
there a safeguard in the SDL interface not to grab the mouse with the X11 video driver
if SRB2 crashes while it grabbed the mouse, well.... no more mouse....

Won't do!
I'm probably doing it wrong... I ran it from the terminal adding "-mousegrab" after "srb2" is that right?

Thanks a lot for your hard work. :)

I've been playing SRB2 on my Kubuntu computer since I first discovered the OS and I've now beaten the game %100 with Tails and I've got 26 of 40 emblems.

However, I've found a few bugs that I reported to the Bug Report thread ( a mod has since relocated them to the SRB2 Ports list). Here's the link:

http://mb.srb2.org/showpost.php?p=671429&postcount=166

I hope this helps you iron out some issues. Keep up the good work!

Hi guys,

Sorry for not updating the repositories. I wanted to wait until I can actually test the new version and the repositories before I upload anything. Also, I wanted to rewrite the scripts so I can add x86-64 support to the repositories. That's all done and now I'm waiting for my bandwidth on my connection to return to update the repositories.

Hi guys, I have finally updated the SRB2 repositories. srb2, srb2-debug and srb2-data are now all at version 2.0.6. I have also added support for x86-64 operating systems and hopefully fixed all the RPM packages problems. Have fun. =)

Works like a charm. Of course, I have a few questions.

1) Know the function where you can slide the mouse left and right to move in those directions? It comes up in SP, but online, it's not there. Any way to remove it?
2) Sound is WAY too low. I've messed with sound settings, I've changed Ubuntu's main audio (which sees to drop under 50% sometimes) and I've upped the speakers (which will rape my ears when I forget to drop it and watch a video) and it's really annoying. Fixable?
3) This might be more of a thing to ask the Ubuntu Forums, but is there a way to record SRB2 game footage? Fraps is not Linux-compatible, and I've had no success finding a recorder that doesn't lock the game to a whopping 5fps.

EDIT: Okay, just went back online and now it doesn't respond to my mouse unless I go into the menu, then i can turn left and right. Why does it no longer respond in-game?

1) Mouselook is pretty weird in the Linux versions right now. Alam is working on a fix.
2) That's not a problem of SRB2... I assume you are running PulseAudio? SRB2 is not very compatible with it, it causes some weird issues. I suggest you look on the Ubuntu Forums on how to remove PulseAudio.
3) Ubuntu Forums, right =) I do suggest you try to record it in OpenGL mode as well, will make recording MUCH faster.

The first, second, and fourth link for the Ubuntu i386 debs are down. And obviously that also means that the APT repository line for Ubuntu will not work, can you fix that please? :)

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, but that shouldn't be the reason why a website is down, but I always feel more comfortable posting which version I have... Just in case. :P

Here's the result from the terminal when using the repository line.

I'm surprised that I wasn't downloading at 1MB/s! That's my average! xD

But anyways, yeah, can you check the links? I'm stuck with Ubuntu, and I haven't played this game in YEARS!

the Ubuntu/Debian links are not up to date, it is is 2.0.6-4
and I bet you did not test the APT, it works fine on both Debian and Ubuntu

Actually I did, I copy and pasted this from the first post.

echo "deb http://repos.srb2.org/deb/ubuntu stable main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/srb2.list && sudo wget http://repos.srb2.org/674A6917.gpg && sudo apt-key add 674A6917.gpg

The results from this command were from my last post, I tried again and got the same thing, which is below.

I'm also not too sure about using the Debian line instead of the Ubuntu line, those were separated for a reason...

EDIT: Okay, I followed the EXACT same steps again about 4 times, and it suddenly worked... Must have been some connection bug or something...

Oh god it feels great to play this again!

Hey, Callum, the rings.wpn file included doesn't have the MD5-sum the game wants.
Just replace the included one with one from the Win32 installation, that's what I did.

Also, when is mouselook going to work? I play online mostly, and it's usually FPS gametypes. I suffer without my mouselook.

Did you update the srb2-data package to the latest version, along with SRB2?

Yes. I updated both of my computers. They both run Fedora 13 x86
with a Win32 counterpart. One is Win7, the other is WinXP.
One was a fresh install, the other an upgrade from 2.0.4.

Installed packages :
srb2 - 2.0.6-4 (i686)
srb2-data - 2.0.6-1 (noarch)
srb2-repository - 1-1 (noarch)

Without any changes, they both MD5-sum quit the first run. On one of them, I pulled rings.wpn from my Windows install,
and proceeded to run just fine, minus mouselook. The other, well, I just got lazy and didn't fix it. =P

EDIT : I forgot to mention I attempted the -mousegrab thing that Alam suggested, it didn't work, and I tried every possible other way I knew of.
EDIT2 : I don't know how I screwed up, but now I have mouselook back!
EDIT3 : Nope. Don't have it back T_T
