The counter isn't even exactly correct. Also I believe someone already explained it was that the system auto deletes some accounts after 3-5 months with 0 posts and no activity.

Wow, the MB has gotten a lot bigger since when I first joined here in 2004.
And I'm the 354 user registered in this forum. And seeing that we have 5000+ users, we must have a big community for the last five years. I am really impressed.
And I also see that some of the noobs that invaded this message board in 2008 left the community for good, this forum really must have an improved population of members.
And what I mean by "Improved population of members" is that we have less noobs than we did last year.
