how do i change the character select screen sprite for a custom character?

hi! im making a custom character and im trying to get a custom image for the character select screen, and im having trouble trying to figure this out. (and yes i tried the wiki. the sprites section of the custom character tutorial says its not even updated for 2.2-)

False, that page has actually been mostly updated, lol.
Also, sprite XTRAB0 is the character select image.
