THIS DISCUSSION IS NOT FOR N00BS TO DISCUSS THE TAILS DOLL CURSE. Since no one else hasn't done it (I think) I got bored and decided to make a Sonic R discussion. If you can't read well or you just didn't read the first part let me explain it:

I'm sick of the TailsDoll talk. Last night I had a dream that the Tails Doll killed me (Still not gonna get me to beilieve!). I'm just tired of hearing about it...so please don't bring it up...I'm I forgetting something? Oh yeah!

It's underrated. Fun, for the most part. But the lack of levels turns me away. An Amy vs Amy race is just insane.

Yes Sonic R is fun. What they did to amy...was awful... SuperSonic is cool and the best race is SuperSonic with all characters unlocked in RadiantEmerald. But yes I also despise the lack of levels.
 
The worst thing of this game is balence. Sonic is fastest and has double jump. Knuckles and Tails both glide, (counting how short flight is) the awesome Amy can't jump, worst stats in the game, but all she can do is go over water and have mini-boosts. Metal Sonic, similar to Sonic. Tails Doll, useless floating. The Eggmen have missiles. They don't ever, stop you.

Super Sonic just isn't fun.

Tails Doll is useless. Wonder why SEGA even made it? Anyway to be honest, I'm pretty good with tails. I have the game for PC but I deleted the data (along with sonic and knuckles colloection and Sonic CD) to make room for srb2.

A short Shortcut by SparkTheHedgehog a.k.a Dark_Dante
On radical city be tails and at the start right before you go down the hill jump and fly to the other side to get ahead of everyone. This also works with the tails doll.
 
Old shortcut. The " Beat the level in 20 seconds" is better.

I never said Tails Doll is useless. The fact that he can float is a giant plus.

It's sooo slooow though. I still wonder why SEGA only made one game with the TailsDoll in it. They should bring it back. No, actually it's best if they don't...leads to more n00bs "IT'S CURSED!!!!!!" Lets not go there...

Agreed. My friends have the game and I found it was pretty fun. But... Gawd...Amy sucked. My friend still plays as her though and, for some bizzare reasone, wins most of the races.

Agreed. My friends have the game and I found it was pretty fun. But... Gawd...Amy sucked. My friend still plays as her though and, for some bizzare reasone, wins most of the races.

Probably practiced then became a master of amy. I bet amy might even be able to beat super sonic if controlled properly.

A Shortcut by Jacy (More of a glitch)
Knuckles & Metal Knuckles: When you start, glide down the hill turn left (Don't stop gliding) glide towards the building on the left side of the water shortcut and you will gone more than half-way through the level.

Tails: See knuckles.

Sonic, Super Sonic, and Metal Sonic: Same as knuckles, but you have to double jump there.

None for Eggman, Eggrobo, and Amy 'cuz they can't jump.

I don't play sonic R anymore. And also you think Sonic R sprites would make good sprite rips with some outline?
 
I loved this game. I use to have a Sonic R T-shirt.

Anyway, I'm pretty good as the T-doll. I just thought he looked cool so I learned to contoll him well. Mecha(Metal?) Knux is still my best though.

I liked the level designs, except Regal Ruin! I can not do super sharp turns on that game!

And since everyone's doing the obvious shortcuts...


Reactive factory:
At the jump right before the loop, turn right in the air.
 
Backwards Radical City.

Before you get past the Casino-like part, you will see that you are under the beginning. Simply go to the highest elevation (how the street is like a hill) and Double jump up there. Yay
 
Another thing, I have no idea how he did this, but when I was watching my brother play as SuperSonic, he got out of the invisible wall in Radiant Emerald. I really have no idea how, but it was fun. You can walk in the sky! If anyone else has done this, can they post how so I can do it again?
 
I thought Sonic R was an ok sonic racing game, and if they were to do a second one with no boards or skates or bikes or Babylon Birdies, I'd get it, also, does anyone have the netgame patch for Sonic R PC?

Possible in the factory level and Regal Ruin. Simply jump through that curve like thing at the end of RR. (there will be a tile that looks different from the others. Full speed, run and jump through it.) Though, I'm not telling you how to do it in Radioactive Factory. :P

I know too much glitches.
 
Knuckles by far beats everyone in this game for his insane gliding that allows him to cut off almost every part of each level. The AI for this game was a little cheap though.
 
Metal Knuckles is better. His glide dominates for that "finish a Radiant Emerald lap in 40 seconds" glitch.

On the loop, Hover and stay at the right corner. When the loop is over, you will be high enough to reach the upper platforms.

Who wants to race me now? :P
