3D Models not displaying (SRB2 Kart)

I've just started playing SRB2 Kart again after a year and I installed the latest update and such but whenever I start a race, I get this: https://gyazo.com/2ef372173286d303d907ff4f263f6013

I remember that the md2/md3 (or whatever they're called) files have to be in a specific folder but did the directory change? I can't seem to troubleshoot this. Any help would be appreciated.

The model cfg file is called mdls.dat, the folder is mdls.

Okay, I had figured out that the mdls.dat file goes in the root of the SRB2Kart folder but I'm still running into the same problem. Is anybody else having the same issue that I'm having?

EDIT: Apparently, I have to disable the shaders in the OpenGL options to get the models to appear.

That's weird, since you can have shaders for the 3D models, so you shouldn't have to disable them.
