Sorry, I think just "Workbench" is not intuitive enough. Noobs will ask: "What is SRB2 Workbench for?", so it could be "SRB2 Map Workbench".

EDIT: Oogaland, will you replace Doom's icons with Sonic's?
 
Thanks for all your input. It seems that I should go with Workbench.

That's true, but I think you lose something if you go for an overly-descriptive name. The same could be said of Doom Builder, SLADE, Yadex...

It's not based on Doom Builder, so it doesn't inherit any Doom-y graphics. The main icon is the platform in my avatar.

Whats going to be different from what we have now? Beisides the name, that is.
 
I hadn't actually thought about connotations of Wacky Workbench until it was pointed out in this thread.

It'll be different in lots of little ways. Probably the most significant difference is the line-drawing system which is considerably more forgiving than DB's, allowing you to do such things as draw lines across one another and have them split automatically. 3D mode will also have quite a few changes from DB, but the first release will not have a 3D mode -- that'll come later.

When I release it, I'll draw up a list of differences from DB, but until then I'll refrain from going into the minutiae.

Nice! I downloaded SRB2DB yesterday, I have to say I enjoyed a lot with my very first map (I got 3th Chapter of SRB2DB tutorial in wiki).

I'm hopeful SRB2 Workbench will bring us new innovations for map making.
