I hope the drift animation can be customize,I prefer gens drift animation because it made sonic looks faster while drifting and just cooler overall(unleashed drift animation just made sonic look slow tbh)

The reason why the gens drift looks faster is mostly because it actually is faster, especially when you do it along walls. But I think what unleashed was going for something where you sacrifice speed for better turning.
