Quick update post!

I've been modifying the jump trails, and I'm currently trying to make them scale with Soap's hiresscale, since I'm spawning them as mobjs instead of ghosts. These are causing me a bit more trouble than I'd like, so I'm thinking of just shrinking the sprites themselves, instead of having Lua shrink them. Tell me which one you'd think I should go with !

Besides trails, I've also added more support for my other addon, which you should totally go check out and download.

I've also finished and polished Soap's new move, the Bomb Dive!

Here's what the Bomb Dive looked like a little bit after development...

There would've been a trail following him, but they covered the whole screen
Code stuff aside, I'm working on Soap's new walk sprites! I think they're going pretty well so far, would love to know what you guys think!

you should continue with the lua shrink for it!
soap isnt gonna be the same without his og size :(

when i said "shrinking down the sprites", i meant his thok trail. i would never shrink down soap's sprites, simply because i'm too lazy, and it's easier to just import the pngs straight from flash into slade.

Update post!

I'm testing out a new ability for Soap,

the
Bounce!



As well as some other stuff, but that's not important for now.

I have an idea for the Bounce, but I'm not sure if I want to implement it now.
Basically, if you hold spin while landing during a bounce, you can hold it and go higher, a bit like Gustavo's early hold-jump-bounce thing you can see in this VOD.
Let me know what you guys think about this!

March Update

It's been at least 1 day since I've updated you guys on Soap.

Here's what I've been working on:
  • Magnetic Rings
    • All nearby rings will automatically make their way toward a Soap, making rings a bit easier to collect when you're going really fast.
  • Collectable Points
    • You probably saw those massive things that said "+10" right? Well, now all sorts of collectables (+monitors) add to your score! How cool is that?
    • This is also an awesome way to win in Match without hurting anyone.
  • Netvars!
    • I've figured out how to make Netvars. That's it.
  • Rebinded Shield Abilities
    • Ok, I think this is one of the cooler updates so far. Instead of shield abilities conflicting with actions binded to the spin key, they now use C2 to activate. This saves me a lot of trouble, and allows me to implement some custom stuff to them.
I also plan to make everything open Soap open-source once I release him, so I'll release his .fla and DEV folder, for everyone to see! Let me know what you guys think about this!
That's really it. Other than some optimizations and organizations, there's not a lot for me to update you guys on.

New build time!

Well, it's been a hot minute since the last public Soap build, huh?

What's new in this build?
-It's indev3.0.p2! That's gotta be pretty exciting, right?
  • Actual Changes
    • All states that had placeholders now have fully-drawn sprites
    • Walk, run, fall, apose, character selection artwork, NiGHTS sprites, continue animation, dash, deaths, freeze, hugged, gasp, ride, roll, spindash, skid(?), pain(?), waiting, transform, ending constellation, and signpost(?) have all been redrawn. That's a lot of sprites!
    • New freefall sprites
I believe that's all that's new. Testing this build for errors a few days ago made me realize how much Soap has changed. Compared, to indev3.0.p3, this is really barebones. Speaking of indev3.0.p3, I might not release it here, as Soap is coming really close to being finished. I don't know what else to put here so I'll just put some pictures.

super soap is probably faster than sms ngl
Edit: super soap actually is faster than sms, sms' max speed = 200. super soap's max speed is 230.

Yeah, indev3.0.p3 is officially out, not on here though, since that's the final release. Changelog is also on there.
If you want to quickly know when Soap is fully released, I'll ping Soap People in my server, so stay tuned!

First time posting on the board, so I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to put lol.
