[Open Assets] Some MB Levels

On top of Sapheros being a pedophile, his actions have hurt numerous people. I know this due to being good friends with someone who, despite not being a direct victim, wound up being hurt deeply by it.

Pedophiles hurt people. I've seen from another pedophile just how much they can hurt someone, fuck someone up for life. I have seen someone be driven very close to suicide over it and how they got treated for being groomed.

And, Mikheal's ban was justified. He was shown to be using code from a known content thief who harassed moderators once they were called out. He was given a fair warning to remove that code. Then he tried to sneak it past by changing the names in the comments and doing nothing else. You may call that unfair, but I see it as him bringing it upon himself.

I know how these rumor mills work, I've been on both sides of one. I will not allow one of the only big Sonic subcommunities not rife with elitism or corruption or drama to befall the same fate as I nearly brought upon a certain group of people without realizing months ago.

Sapheros is a pedophile. Pedophiles deserve no respect, and someone calling them names on the internet should be the least of their worries, given how what they do is incredibly illegal and immoral.
YEAH for real, this is the kind of energy I am talking about.

I would vastly prefer people get off their fake moral high ground of "Noooo you're insulting someone you can't do that! Insulting people is always bad!" and actually just pay attention to who they're even talking about. Damn! Just let people call bad behavior what it is, when they see it! Sure, don't overreact and drag someone who isn't a real problem, that's cringe. But some people actually are the worst and are real problems, and everyone else around deserves to know.

Earning a good reputation is entirely in someone's own hands; they fuck up too many times and too hard and any hit their reputation takes is well earned at that point. Stop trying to coddle people who repeatedly act in bad faith, use some discernment and let people take their Ls. It builds stronger character and better friendships.

It doesn't matter what was written in the rules, and what is written now. Only events and facts are important. And the facts are as follows: old community members confirm that in the late 2.0 and early 2.1 times there were no known cases of bans on the master server for "portlegs" and other "copyright violations". Maybe they missed something. And not only Xntimodern, but also other participants declare such a thing. The second fact: we do not know of any cases of a ban on the publication of addons with the participation of banned users until 2022. If there were any, it passed us by. Therefore, at the moment we tend to consider this as a tightening of the real community policy. Not written, but real. There is de jure, and there is de facto. Do not confuse these two things.

About Mikhael Blur. Have you ever heard of such a thing as hermeneutics? About the fact that the same words and phrases can be understood and perceived in different ways. The fact that you said that this is "not OK" for you does not mean that you need to be banned for it. Also, this does not mean that a person should be considered guilty of a malicious violation. If you had directly said that attempts to publish this content are supposed to be banned, then we would have nothing to answer here. And so we (and Mikhael Blur) considered it nothing more than a recommendation. Yes, we took your threats as recommendations because they didn't sound like threats. Therefore, we are still inclined to consider Mikhael Blur a victim of the repressive policy of the community. On the other hand, Mikhael Blur himself is inclined to believe that his ban is the least important event in this whole situation. The most important thing is the tightening of the principles of content publishing, which led to a de facto change in the status of a number of serious projects to "illegal", although there was no such practice a year ago.

About Sapheros. Yes, we understand that most of the community treats this person disrespectfully. At least, most of those who speak loudly. But I know enough people who agreed with the idea that the demonic rampage that followed the ban of this man is no less immoral than the act of Sapheros himself. Perhaps for you the existence of such a point of view will be a revelation. I think I also have the right to such a point of view. Moreover, as I said earlier, it doesn't matter to us what exactly a person was banned for. It is important that this is followed by "dancing on the bones". And now, in relation to Mikhael Blur (and Sirexer too) you show the same reaction: you insult him after the ban. Personally, I condemn it.

They're not that old. I've been around for longer than any of them, and have been staff for most of it; so believe me, I know what our policies have been throughout the years.

I think I also have the right to such a point of view.
Not here, you do not.

Telling people they are as bad as their sexual abuser, calling it a "demonic rampage", because they made fun of the person who abused them, is horseshit, and you should be ashamed of yourself and the harmful views you represent.

In essence, a simpler breakdown of what happened looks like this:

1. Mikhail submits content made by Sonic1983.
2. The moderators ask him to remove this content, and tell him exactly why.
3. Mikhail ignores this and does it anyway.
4. The moderators ban Mikhail for ignoring them.
5. You and others complain that Mikhail had no reason to be banned.

Writing a comprehensive rules list is very difficult. The new Russian MB alternative seems to agree, because it doesn't even bother and just copy-pastes the MB rules. Wasn't this whole thing because you believed the rules were too strict? Or was it really just about the Russian community thinking the rules shouldn't apply to them?

If you guys want to make your own corner of the community, go ahead! As someone who hasn't burned every bridge I have to the main community, I am able to see that it views this new Russian MB as a joke. The first post about it on Discord was talking about how it should get taken down, and the rest were mocking it. If you guys want to permanently and irrevocably isolate yourselves from the rest of us, while we continue to have our fun, go right ahead. The door is open and we're not stopping you from using it.

Was it not you who said the following:
And it doesn't really say in the rules that members are prohibited from posting content that uses anything created by banned members. It is also not written in the rules that for attempting to publish such content without specifying the name of the banned participant, the person who tries to publish this content will be banned. Sonic1983's name is also not mentioned anywhere in the rules.
You're the one who made this about the rules, and used them to underpin your argument. Now you're trying to say they don't matter? What happened? Is it because we started citing what the rules actually say, rather than what you thought they said?

We recently had it reported to us that there's a weird, hidden porn reference in this level pack that went unnoticed through submissions. Under normal circumstances, we would just hide the content temporarily until the author agreed to update it and remove any offending content, but as they're banned, we've got no choice but to take it down.

This discussion actually just went from bad to worse in an instant. I’m assuming this means hosting the level pack on the Master Server is a no-go?

Let's not get the wrong idea; there wasn't any graphic imagery. It was just a reference to a genre of porn, which isn't as dire but still not acceptable. We dealt with a similar incident regarding an OLDC submission last year which created a lot of buzz, but we have literally no clue on what they were trying to accomplish with it in this level pack given that there was a so well known precedent.

Nah, when it was up it was marked as reusable, anyone hosting can just remove the offending content. The biggest issue you would have to deal with is probably the Bricked Busted chain coded by Sonic1983

@Tatsuru Confirmation on this? Or should it just not be touched due to Mikhael being banned?

You're correct, anyone is welcome to touch it. 👍

All though, due to why Mikhael being banned. Clearly thinking that he used content from Sonic1983, but with that problem from Mikhael ignoring that anyways, from Message Board. It give him the reason why he was banned.

Is this what you're talking about?

Oh no,MLP Generation 4 has come, and im not ready for this!
Well, I was showing him the picture about the hidden porn reference, and I thought this picture was what he was talking about. I was curious about what it was. If this is not the picture then I don't know what is. (nor do I want to know)
