Invalid Objects in background not appearing

I don't know what causes this or when it started happening for me but for some reason objects in the background just won't appear for me. For instance the train in the background of Arid Canyon Zone 2 & the end castle in Castle Eggman Zone 1 is are both gone. This isn't exclusive to the vanilla maps as Spring Yard Zone from CobaltBW's Chaos Mode has it's buildings missing. I've tried adjusting settings & uninstalling then reinstalling the game, but it hasn't worked. If there is some easy fix for this or if I accidently screwed things up myself I would really like to know, as it has been driving me crazy.

You have skybox turned off. Type in console skybox 1

I can't believe the fix was this simple. Thank you so much, skyboxes are working properly for me again.
