Fair enough on the customs, and I figured that might be the case with not having an item in hand.

How would it work with 'everything documented under a single command'? Some overlay like the game guide, or just a super massive list in the console?

Fair enough on the HUD, it gets pretty busy at times with other mods, not even counting possible conflicts.

Hornspam = Fast might make sense for Hellhorns :thinkingemoji:

This is a complete rewrite of the addon, since it was the first script I'd ever written for this game and was actually kind of a disaster mess internally.

  • 100+ new horns.
  • Significantly better performance. Low-end rigs should struggle less on populated (and loud) servers.
  • Minor visual tweaks. Try a hellhorn!
  • Removed many redundant commands and cvars.
  • The new horn_preferexpansions cvar prevents the base 300-ish horns from being randomly selected, but still allows...

This is a great update.

But,

How does this work? I really don't see the effect on this…
The longer you can hear someone's horn, the quieter it gets. It starts as a relatively subtle effect, mostly just reducing the raw power of noise walls, but becomes pretty obvious if someone is actually trying to be disruptive.
 
Oh hey, since this is being developed again I can finally say, this wall of text is really hard to parse. A simple color change to separate the sound name from the source would do wonders.

I am against rainbow fuckery. Also, this would break back-compat with expansions in a way that bothers me.

The full-list view is provided mainly as a last-ditch fallback, so I'm not that concerned about it appearing as a gigantic block of nonsense, because...that's kind of what it is, LOL. Namesearch your favorite things.
 
Hi! Love this thing, been developing an expansion for a server I'm working on.

Was wondering, is there any kind of option like horn_preferexpansions that also works with hell horns? Right now every time I'm on a hell map or when the roll for a hell horn succeeds it's choosing a hell horn both from the base mod and from the expansion I'm making

Not yet, potential candidate for a future version—good thinking.
 
Definitely a must have for a server ! Thanks for the great mod.

I do have a problem though, i'm trying to setup custom sound on my dedicated server and have followed the instruction in the post but i can't figure out where to even start. Sorry if this isn't the place to ask, i'm kind of unfamiliar with all that ^^'

If you need a complete example, grab another HORNMOD expansion from the MB and open it in SLADE. They're pretty straightforward.
 
How do I make it remember the horn I want?

I added the command to hornmod.cfg, but it only takes effect after the race finishes.

Tried favehorn # as well and that seemed to do nothing.

- HORNMOD is now Reusable. I've been away from v1 dev for a long time, so if you need to hack around with my nightmare project, be my guest.
- Fixed shutup not working when horn_explode was on. I think i was notified of this, like, 6 different times and managed to have a stroke when looking at the relevant code every single time.

Thanks! I always had a problem with the client side hiding of your horn volume as it takes away the info on how much hornage you have left before no one can hear you spamming. Couldn't find a way to disable without modding so it's nice to see that we can change it for public servers without any problem.
