so uh i was never a fan of the base vanilla characters, especially sonic, as they all feel unbalanced, so one day i thought: 'fuck it, imma just make good characters myself'

so i did :)

The Mod:
Multispamdash:
Its like a Spamdash, but instead of uncurling, u do another Spamdash lol.

Spin Control:
Ever felt like u can barely move after rolling? Well now u can move more freely than ever lol (also applies to Roll Jump lock).

Dashmode:
every character should have dashmode change my mind

Squash and Stretch:
The animations don't look nearly as stiff, thanks to some cool ass code from NeonSRB2.

Classic inspired Colors:
Sonic is Dusk, Tails is Sunset, and Knuckles is Ruby.

Water Running:
Everyone* can now run on water.
*except knuckles, hes a heavy fucker

Increased Jump heights:
Sonic and Tails' jump heights are now 1.135, and Knuckles' jump height is 1

Height Burst:
Basically a Jumpthok that is 1.5 x your speed. Spamming it can give you speeds of up to 130 lmao.

Flight Improvements:
Tails can now fly faster, and by holding jump instead of spamming it

Multi-Glide:
Knuckles can now glide faster, and multiple times in a row.

UPDATE: Knuckles doesn't lose height unless he's under 10 fpt

Kirb - Made the Run Dust code I used in the effects, and the airwalkn't code

NOTE: This addon has been CANCELLED, as it was just a side project and kind of a waste of time, plus its shitty af compared to the hedgebois

honestly (coming from someone who's literally made two of this exact same kind of mod) this is very much the epitome of "i'm going to edit the existing movesets to make them 'better'" mods, fit with the obligatory spindash changes, jumpthok and hueshifted skincolours.

to be fair though, it's not entirely horrible. there's very little to be analysed, sure, but most of what's here is decent. sonic and knuckles are both competent, even if they're very much unbalanced. knuckles loses barely any height and moves much faster, but the addition of multiability makes the moveset flow much better.

tails is where the mod falls short, though. combined with the odd visual bug of him squishing when he runs out of flight and in general being much faster than necessary, his flight being extremely strong and unbalanced makes for an oddly boring play experience.

overall? not horrible, but definitely the kind of mod you'd think of when "moveset altering modification" is brought up.

hello, I'm here again, just wanted to say the mod is great now, the only thing is you can destroy badniks during your spring / falling state, so maybe that would be an improvement if you made sonic vulnerable like the base game. I think it makes the mod a bi too op, but other then that I think that's my final review. great addon! 10/10

man this really does feel like you just got a bunch of reusable scripts and called it a new mod. first of all, the colors aren't new, they're literally just the vanilla colors. sccsc isn't that hard to use, y'know? sonic's ability is pretty much just the momentum thok from xmomentum. tails' ability pretty much just feels like the actionspd was turned up, and knuckles..
flags = SF_MULTIABILITY
the global changes have all been done before.. mostly because they're all either s_skin changes or reuseable code
also what is "classic" about this? not exactly a complaint just a question

thanks for the feedback, i do see where your problems are and i hope i can try to add some code in the future

i tried to add some more to knuckles, basically he doesnt loose height while gliding, unless hes under 10 speed, so hes more op

the classic part basically just meant sonic tails and knuckles, the classic trio
(also that and the fact they use colors similar to their classic colors)

also uh if u dont really like this mod, u can check out the hedgebois, its a much bigger project i made

some ideas (idk much abt srb2 code so I'm not not sure if some of this is possible to add.)
1. add a built in momentum mod that works with the mod (momentum mods I've tried don't work well with this mod) or make sonic have a higher speedcap.
2. make tails flight shorter. maybe 5-4 seconds.
3. when sonic does his dashmode add the super peelout sprites.
4. add a hyper form (no hyper for tails but he will have super flickies
5. since knuckles is heavy, increase his gravity (if he jumps lower bc of this, make him jump higher to balance it.) and make him bounce higher on springs like Amy when she hits a spring.

you don't have to add all of this, i just think it would be an improvement.

Its good so good but i think if knuckles run on the water its a 10/10 mod but now the mod is 9/10

I'm basically only approving this because Tails' take on flight is different from what I've seen before, and Sonic's is at least kind of unique. Everything else is something I've seen before, and is mostly a Pick-and-Mix of other Lua scripts. You have only met the bare minimum for releases, and I certainly would not use the word "Better" here. Stronger doesn't necessarily mean better, and the parts that I would consider improvements are coding you didn't actually do yourself. It's another okay-ish Pick-and-Mix character set, and nothing more.
