Don't hit convert to Doom GFX, simple as that. It automatically converts once it gets imported.
 
@Violo: They aren't converted automatically. Whenever I import lumps, I always have to convert it manually.
@kyuubinaruto9990: They have to be .bmp files.

I've had a similar problem to this. I'm not exactly sure how, but you have to import SRB2's palette into your .bmp image with some sort of image-editing program.

Ok i saved it as bitmap then i converted it to doom gfx and it's still same and what you mean by SRB2's palette
 
The palette's the 256 colors used in images.
IrfanView has a function which can import it into a .bmp file (which I used to import custom textures).
Rename srb2.srb to "srb2.wad", open it in SLumpEd or whatever lump editor you use, and extract the PLAYPAL lump. Open the image in a program, and if it has a function where you can import palettes, do so.
