Hi all, I'm making a Match level called Castle Beach Zone. It will feature a beach and a castle, and is quite a large map. It's still in early stages so far, only about 10% done, anyway here are the screen shots:

Wow. Not bad for a rookie. It could use more textures in the castle. It also could use thing decoration. Overall just keep going. I like it.

Oh god, that empty space. Don't feel discouraged, it's a common mistake among new designers, but you need to address it. There's really no content...it looks like just flat running everywhere. I agree that it's pretty good for a beginner, but here's what you should do to improve it:

1. Shrink the whole thing down. Just highlight the whole level, go to "resize", and scale it down to about 60% of its current size.
2. Please add some more content. There's just nothing to engage the player or catch his eye. Add more hills, more grass patches, more obstacles or branches or more detailed castle scenery. Do whatever it takes to fill up that empty space.

In the second screenshot, I can barely tell what is floor and what is wall.

But yeah, this level needs to be much less empty. You should also try using much more texture variation.
