Railsniper Range (Match/Tag)

After a few hours of hard labor, I present to you all, my first (released) map.

Railsniper Range is a Match/Tag map that is exactly as its name entails, all about rail-sniping your opponents while bouncing around the mountain in the center.

*EDIT* Forgot to mention, this map replaces MAP93 Hydro Plant Zone (never liked it much anyway)

Hopefully this map helps to bring out the inner sniper in all of us.

I just took a look and the level Is kinda blah. Wheres the trees, flowers, and sniper hidey holes? Those make sniping fun! I love being able to see everything at once.
 
Yep, I guess thats for next version. I just wanted to get the level down before I forgot the idea, I guess.

The thing was, I really didn't know how much scenery, holes etc. that I should add in. I didn't want to make the map too cluttered. So, because of that, I'm figure out where I'm going to place scenery when I get to the next version.
 
I have to ask, arre you an avid FPS player? Because I'm seeing lot's of cover here for people to hide against. Not much platforming, though. Just a friendly reminder, this is a Sonic game, and you should have a bit more jumping.

Of course, who said match mode was really a platformer? :S
 
You guess correctly.

I'm an avid CounterStrike player, and I guess the map reflects that. :D

However, I'm not sure how more jumping/platforming will improve the map, because when I was testing the map in a netgame, I spent much more time shooting and running than jumping, hehe...
 
And of course, you're right.

The funny thing is, I always thought Sonic was all about speed but what do I know?
 
Well, I've truthfully had some times in my levels where the player must hop. From one block, to the next, to the next, to the next......

But hey, if you want them to run, give them space between the jumps. I really must point you to Penopet's Gelespious Mounain. It's got platforming, and speed. Oh, where was it.....

Anywho, I fear you'll dwarf in comparison to his level, but you're beginning, he's not. And besides, we're talking about platforming. ;)

Although my avatar states I'm an operating system nobody uses. But that's not a pet or anything.

Also, I think when he meant platforming, he was most likely referring to how flat your level is. There should be plenty of actual jumping and running, instead of just running around. Less flatness.

On-Topic: Finally a good sniper level! There should be a little more wide range areas. For you to be caught in a wide open area. Maybe some rings and a couple of rail rings? Oh well. Great work Jazz!

8) I love this Jazz, and I just played it with you the other day to. Keep it up, and I must say to all peoples !! (DON't PLAY A MATCH LEVEL THAT HAS RAIL RINGS WITH JAZZ!! HE WILL KICK YOUR REAR!!!) Seriously. :eek:
