For the longest time (back in 2010), I've been wondering how to open up this gate in Castle Eggman Zone Act 2. The only time I've been able to open the gate is when I'm playing online but then again, that was someone else who had opened up the gate and not me.

The gate in 2.1 doesn't open at all anymore, I believe. It opened back in 2.0 when you had all the emeralds, though.

Yep, that gate doesn't open up at all anymore in 2.1.

Well that's a shame... But hey, at least I know how to open up the gate now in 2.0. Thanks Lightspeed.

Yeah, a fun little shortcut I put in if you had all of the emeralds. I think I intended to do the same in other stages too, but didn't get around to it / found suitable situations to shortcut.
