OpenGL is not supported kthnxbai

The red line is the same boundary that stops the players. As you can see, the boundary perfectly matches the sides of the software screen. Meanwhile, the OpenGL screen has the boundary significantly smaller. Really, the boundary hasn't changed- the camera in OGL is different enough such that the area visible outside of the boundary is much larger. If the side borders were still vertical, or close to it, I could live with it- but I cannot accept these huge angles as a border, and so I discourage people playing OGL.

I wouldn't mind.....if there were md2s.

For my personal uses, I'm going to add my Walls of the Void Tornado model to the Tornado when this becomes released :P.

But damn, this level looks fantastic. I will sound like one of those annoying people right now, and say I can't wait for this level's release.

I'm alive, I swear!

*sloppy slippy slidey gif*

Meet Slopp. She's a messy one.

Goddamnit toaster, do you know how hard it is to wash off grape juice?!

(seriously though water dependant gimmickry that doesn't slow you down is something that fascinates me)

EDIT: Okay I guess using your rings as a last resort life source is cool too, judging by the information in the post below!

It's not 100% water dependent... I made it so you can turn your rings into a little bit of a size boost, for levels which lack water entirely. I am trying to balance this character so that they're not just a gimmick wad, but something which can seriously be used to beat something like Eggrock if you play your cards right. Still, water dependency was something I was aiming for, so yay!

also Slopp the Grape Juice is her canon species now god damnit Zipsy <3

The concept for this character reminds me a lot of the The Ooze in how the player shrinks and grows in size depending on how much juice Slopp has soaked up. I do really like that how you play her is much more reliant on how you manage your resources and knowing the locations of where you can soak some water back into you, but I'm not sure how you can make it so that the character can be used normally without the constant need for lots of rings and water. The only thing I can think of off the bat is reducing the amount of time it takes for you to slowly goop yourself away.

Also, when Slopp grows while she's in water, is there a limit to how big she grows? In stages like Azure Temple where there's always water, she would always be constantly growing without any sort of size gap which (while hilarious) would end up in the level being unplayable. I could see the maximum size being roughly the largest size she grows to in this gif.

...to be honest I love the gimmick even with it's flaws. I kinda want to try drawing up a general look for Slopp that would fit with her grape juice like qualities. ;w;

Toaster

Are you making a de Blob mod?

Will you make levels about painting things with your slop?

Pls do this thing

It's a wonder how many weird games there are about player characters who are made of goop. I have been watching Youtube videos of them for the past... hour or so? THANKS A LOT YOU NERDS (Slopp is her own lady and none of her mechanics are even remotely similar to de Blob, though! She is offended at the accusation.)

There are some things about Slopp that didn't make it into that gif, one of which is that the max size is four times the player's normal size, and that there's some rudimentary effort to scale the jump height to the player so you can't get places you shouldn't be by being big/be locked off from the main path by being small. Not as significant scaling for the horizontal speed, though.

If you're in a place where there's a lot of water, you can squeeze the water out of her like a sponge by holding the spindash key. It only works underwater though, and has a minimum size of half the regular player (to replace spindashing under things).

also yayyy >w< i wasn't going to make sprites for her because i'm very busy r/n but i might make a design at some point

slopppp

Instead of pressing Custom Button 1, she now turns rings into emergency grape juice this way. You can press the spin key to stop any further growth, or hold it as you run past to prevent any ring conversion at all. (I did tone down the growth via this method after making this gif, though.)

I know it's somewhat old but CCZ looks incredible. I could picture playing this in multiplayer; all the Tornados flying away!

I just hope it's not possible to commit suicide by Spin-dashing or rolling off to the point where the Tornado can't follow you. That was one thing I hated about SCZ in Sonic 2.

You... you do know Cloud Convoy was released last August, right?

New SLOP GAUGE. Self evident enough, only shows up when you're playing as Slopp so I don't think I need to label it with anything.

(also, all of this works properly with mapmaker-determined scaling- there's a "base scale" which is altered whenever destscale is, or on spawn for 2.0 ERZ3 mode.)

New SLOP GAUGE.

*SLOPOMETER

How did you know I was gonna ask about some sort of gauge anyway? Are you a psychic?? Either way, it looks really good and pretty much solves my little nitpick about not being able to tell when you're about to run out of juice aside from difficult to read size differences.

I question what kind of extra abilities Slopp herself might have, though I can probably guess that they might involve sliding across/sticking to surfaces and being generally sloppy (perhaps bouncy like in Techno Hill?). Whatever ability it might be, you can always have it affect the slopometer to try to balance it out if it seems easy to abuse and will allow the player to get smaller if they really need to do so outside of water.
