Strange, they work for me. Let's see...these should work now.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is going to become the next Call of Duty. 'Nuff said.
It's really pissing me off how they keep making the same thing over and over. Same sports, same gameplay, only a few minor additions. The first one was okay, second, yeah, sure, not bad. Third was getting irritating and now a fourth/fifth? No. Just... just stahp.

And Sonic Lost World is just... meh. It looks like another god damned "LOL HI THERE 5 YEAR OLDS" game. The CLASSICS had more seriousness, and that didn't even have any cutscenes. Also, dunno if you've noticed, but the game doesn't look in the slightest challenging. It's where Sonic games have went recently. Down the road to being for just 5 year olds. "Sonic's meant to be for kids" No. *Points at the Sonic Adventure series and Sonic Heroes* Fair enough, the games weren't the best ever, but they were playable by everyone. Hell, my grandparents used to play the multiplayer with me. :v

Now that's out of the way, let's get back onto the game itself. I despise how the worlds are portrayed. It's just ridiculously cheesy, and blegh. To make things worse; you need a Wii U to play it decently. 3DS? Eh. To get the most out of it you'd need the Wii U. Ticks me off just a little bit. ^^;

As you can tell, I'm REALLY not a fan of the new game at all. 8D

EDIT: The casino levels look actually... decent compared to the Green Hill style ones. o-o

What do you think of the leader of the Deadly Six telling Sonic just go and die (as heard in the Color Powers trailer)? Did you see the Color Power trailer...? The game seems to sport a more mature theme than Colors did, giving it a E10+ rating.

Also, we've only seen full gameplay of the first three levels...out of an estimated 40+ levels. I think it's a bit too early to judge on difficulty...just look at Unleashed. And Sonic 1. And more. Judging on GHZ alone in Sonic 1, you'd think the whole game is incredibly easy...

@Olympic Games: At least it's not a main title. Just let them keep releasing them, it's a harmless spinoff that rakes in money :P

Sonic Heroes is, like, the last place I'd look for a "not-kiddy" Sonic game. Remember this is the game that thinks so little of its audience that it practically explicitly spells out what's happening or what to do for the player, automatically, without any means of disabling it, every ten seconds.

Also, you really seem to be obsessed with five-year-olds here. Just because the series has been taking some cues from Saturday morning cartoons since Colors doesn't mean the series is suddenly pandering to kids too young to be especially invested in it - nor does it mean that suddenly adults can't enjoy it. Hell, I enjoy goofy one-liners like "No copyright law in the universe is going to stop me!" one over ones from earlier in the series like "With the power of these Emeralds, I'm going to destroy this damn planet!". I'll take the slightly more light-hearted tone over the trying-to-be-grimdark-and-failing-spectacularly plots of Sonic Adventure 2 or Shadow. I know I'm not alone with this, either.

Also, I actually haven't seen a whole lot cheesy in how the worlds are portrayed. Like... nothing. The only cheesy thing I can think of is the red guy's "Accept your fate and die" line, which is relatively innocuous as far as cheese goes.

Finally, you're mad because it's a Wii U exclusive? Get over it. Console exclusives have been a thing since Intellivision started to compete with the Atari 2600, and the last time all the big console libraries got so homogenous, the entire industry crashed. The console's having a hell of a time taking off, it needs all the exclusives it can get.

It's also on 3DS, so it's not like the only platform getting it is Wii U.

Honestly, these four pictures don't look bad at all. I always hear that Sonic looks out of place or that the art style doesn't fit a Sonic game. Do none of these screens scream Sonic to people?

I find the second one Sonic looks out of place because the background almost looks like Kirby's Epic Yarn etc. But other than that, the visual design I agree look really well done.

Since most of the discussion here is Sonic Lost World, I think the admins should split the topic into 2 separate topics for the 2 games. So we can discuss Mario & Sonic on another topic and Lost World here.

The 3DS graphics still kind of upset me, as they are not very good quality. Some objects in the levels e.g. the clouds in the first zone are quite blocky if you see the sharp edges to it.

I'm pretty sure that's the Wii U version, and second, that's not the game developer's fault. They're pushing the hardware limitations of the game so it can look as nice as possible without having a lot of slowdown ((unlike Sonic an All Star Racing Transformed on the 3DS))

Thanks for the correction, and how comes SASRT on 3DS had better graphics?

The visuals look fantastic from a Sonic perspective, really fitting tone. Any news on other playable characters though? Seems Sega is kind of afraid of that now.

Because it was also pushing the graphical limitations of the console. Although due to it pushing the limits too much, it had to sacrifice the most important part of any game. The framerate. Last I heard SASRT on the 3DS had like a 10-15 frames per second framerate. It was really bad.

I was watching gameplay of it, and it seemed to have a good framerate. Don't know what you're talking about.

Well, we got a ESRB rating synopsis.

http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.jsp?Certificate=33024&Title=Sonic+Lost+World%u2122

ESRB said:
Rating Summary: In this action platformer, players control Sonic the Hedgehog as he attempts to stop an evil villain's plans. As players zoom through fantastical landscapes, they collect items (e.g., gold rings and power-ups), avoid hazards, and use spin attacks to defeat robotic enemies; enemies break apart amid colorful explosions. During gameplay, characters sometimes use aggressive language (e.g., “You're going home in a box,” 'I'm going to skin you alive,' and 'I long for death's cold embrace.'). Cutscenes also depict laser fire and explosions, as well as dialogue that references violence (e.g., “I'll get fat from eating your black hearts,” “One second you're contemplating genocide,” and “As long as I can still strangle a Zeti, my hands are fine.”).

wat

Nah seriously, this may be just exemples. I mean, i can't imagine even Knuckles or Shadow saying those dialogues.
“As long as I can still strangle a Zeti, my hands are fine.” hmmm...
