Then what's the point of an avatar? THEY can be flashy, THEY can advertise, THEY can have quotes in them. So having some stupid thing TO THE LEFT of your post is as bad as having a stupid thing BELOW your post?

Signatures are words; avatars are symbols. It allows you to express yourself without the need for writing, and also makes it easier for people to identify you in a crowd (metaphorically speaking, of course). An avatar is like something that just says "I'm here!" you know? Like it represents you, or IS you!

Although, I don't know why you're trying to turn this into an argument.

I can not have an avatar and have a signature stating I'm Chaos. But meh.
