"The DS version was still good but it just didn't have the feel the original one had." conveys just about the same message.
Anyways, one thing impressive about this game was its size. It was pretty massive for the first game on the system, and the size is still fairly impressive today. There's an impressive 120 missions to do, and the worlds are big in size.

You guys!
I first played SM64 circa 2005... On Project 64...
You know what?
It ****ing rocked, arrow keys and all.
(but yeah, I'd love to try it with the real deal, as making some jumps was pretty hard)

This conundrum reminded me of how great SM64 was, so I decided to replay it.
Then some memories flashed past my eyes... memories of making my own SM64 levels.
Then I remembered Toad's Tools 64.
I was wondering, "Did VL-Tone ever release a terrain editor?"...
Seems like he still hasn't, but what he has shown is impressive, to say the least:

Greatness. Release date for TT64 0.6 is "somewhere in 2009". But knowing VL-Tone, he probably has his hands full already and won't meet the year.

Toad tools is nice and all but it is illegal to share roms so don't be surprised if you cant distribute your creation like wads

oh whea i forget about ips but holding a rom itself is

any way, may this topic rest in peace

That's what IPS patches and similar technologies are for so you can distribute only your changes to the ROM.
