Can someone upload a picture of the make-shift "Grid" used for the HUD Coordinates, labels and all?
 
No, but I CAN help you with the positioning. You know those grids with the 4 squares? That's similar to what SRB2 uses, only (as far as I know) flipped diagonally, meaning that the positives are in the bottom left corner instead of in the top right.
