RockyFalls14.WAD Alpha, Tell Me If It's Worth Finishing

The thing about first maps is that they're a learning experience. If you don't want to finish, you don't have to.

Gameplay is really good, so I think you're on to something here. However, I have a few suggestions:

1. Change the positions of those springs. Some of them act weird.
2. To add challenge and realism, try to add a conveyor belt or current effect to the waterfall.
3. For heaven's sake, be a bit more varied with the textures. Few really good levels have the same 1 or 2 textures everywhere.

Other than those things, I actually quite enjoy what you've got so far. It's certainly better than MY first level. So, yes, it does have promise.

Thanks, these are all really good tips, it's nice to know people support this test, this is the best of my first efforts, and I'm onto much more, and what do you mean by a conveyor belt effect, can you tell me more?

I mean use Linedef Type 253. In case you don't know how, here's the Wiki page:

http://wiki.srb2.org/wiki/Linedef_Type_253

By the way, although the page says you need to use that linedef in conjunction with Sector Type 985, that's actually not true. You don't need that sector type, just a control sector, a linedef, and tagged sectors.

If you're totally confused about everything I just said, you might need a more basic tutorial first. This might help:

Good luck!!!

Not a bad start, has a good feel to it, but yes, those springs really do act weird, and the long corridor approach seems like a little too much empty space, and you really should add a MAINCFG lump to this level, when you finish it.
