I'm more stating that your hypothetical is a tangent without merit. Why does it matter if Iceman can come up with gimmicks? If he can come up with gimmicks, he would be better served MAKING an ice stage than talking about it in this thread.

There are a lot of potential gimmicks for stages that work in any theme, such as how we ended up using the ropes in ACZ (they would honestly work in any theme we wanted). We could also cross multiple themes, mixing ice with something else to provide more gimmick territory, such as an ice casino or an ice forest. Remember that official SRB2 stages aren't bound by the limitations of what's currently coded into the game, too. If we wanted to make, say, Ice Cap frost launchers that turn you into an ice cube, we could. Your statement that there isn't enough unexplored territory in ice stages simply does not hold water, regardless of whether or not Iceman can make up a gimmick for you on the spot, so I don't understand why you're even asking. The reason there isn't an ice level in SRB2 is that we haven't made one, shock of all shocks, and it simply isn't a high priority to create one at this time.

Speaking of ice levels, don't we already HAVE some? Frozen Night Zone? Icicle Falls Zone? Frost Columns Zone? Ice Palace Zone? (from SRB1 Remake) HECK! Just because they're not single player levels, that doesn't mean they're not levels at all... And gimmick-wise? Don't we already HAVE slippery ice, the ability to make ice crack and fall into a bottomless pit? (yeah, falling platforms), Icicle Falls uses ice that floats on water.

Slippery Ice and Cold Water are really the only unique gimmicks ice levels can have. Sure you could say that ice cracks and falls, but it's the same as a platform in GFZ falling for no good reason. RVZ has platforms that float on lava, which is the same thing.

I'll be honest. I was hoping for a SAGE release. But It'll be done when it's done.

It's not likely that our releases will ever coincide with SAGE again. It happened to be a convenient spot to drop of 2.0, and that was about it.

Hmm.....

If there ARE going to be ghosts players can race in Version 2.1's Time Attack, then wouldn't there most likely be staff ghosts in the data to try to beat as well?

That actually sounds like a good idea...

But then we'd have to wait more time in order for the devs to put their records...

Oh well, probably next version after this one.

But then of course they'd actually would have to finish making the levels first. ;)
Well, obviously, but they have to do that anyway.

EDIT: Oh, and you clearly sound like you've never really done time-attacking before. (Though I could be wrong about that)
Me? I've legitimately obtained the time attack emblem in a single day. It doesn't take long to get decent records, even less so if you have an entire team at your disposal.

I love how it's assumed the devs are master time attackers because it's their game. It'd be better if the people from the actual Time Attacks topic actually made the official times.

You're assuming that the dev times are supposed to be as good as possible and ultra-hard to beat. I assumed that if the devs actually put their own times in the game, they would be moderately good but definitely possible to beat.

(Sonic's AOSTH voice) I'm waiting... I'm waiting...
Well, i hope it will be done until 2013...

Welcome to SRB2, where no devs update this game for a living and therefore everyone here adapts to the wait time as the devs gives us almost-flawless updates.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about whether the update will be finished before or after 2013. In fact, it is almost done; they just need to iron out the Netcode so that you can play Multiplayer flawlessly.

So in the meanwhile, amuse yourself with other games in order to pass time, just like we do.

I just noticed, there is a grey emblem for every boss level. Is there going to be one hidden in the arena, or is the last one just for finishing the level?
