This is to all you non believers that Combi-Rings cannot be done in Srb2.
Latley the game, knuckles chaotix, has been getting me inspired to Remake its things. I think this is one of them.

I would Like to thank SSNTails and Especially Draykon for helping me make this (Draykon got this working correctly in the end)

Here is the CombiRingTest.wad, A test map is Included in the wad:

This is the CombiRingSOC.soc, Just incase you want to make your own level with this SOC:
This SOC uses the MAPTHINGTYPE of 3330 and it must not be placed ontop of the player.

YOU MUST PUT THIS IN A 2 PLAYER GAME OR HAVE ONE PERSON JOIN A NETGAME AND WARP TO THIS MAP (ON COOP MODE) TO MAKE THIS WORK CORRECTLY!!!

In Knuckles Chaotix, there is a ring trail connecting the two players.
It's supposed to be like that, but it doesn't push the other player along when you go too far. :|

Yes, this Connects the 2 players, but there Is no rubber band like feature, and there never will be because of SRB2s limitations. :?
 
But then it just looks like a ring connection.You could probably make one character be able to pick up the other like in knuckles chaotix.Can't you?

Impossible.
In srb2, you cannot do the "rubber band" thing or pick up items like that. :|

HA! I wish! :roll: That would require a Separate EXE which I am NOT doing
 
Maybe no rubber band physics, but wouldn't it be possible to force a character to stay within a certain distance of the first player?
 
I suppose that could be possible, but I think that would require spawning some type of invisible spring object for the player to bounce off of.
EDIT1: Now that I think of it, I don't think that is possible with SOCcing.
EDIT2: Actually, It is possible. I managed to make it spawn a Invisible spring, but have no way to control where it goes. Fixing this as I type this message
 
I think you should put another part in the soc and make it so both the players need to get too the end sign in order to warp to the next level. I know it is possable because FF made a soc like this for one of his Acid Missles a long time ago.
