In 1.08, when you said "map mapxx" in the console, it said "Sorry, map change disabled in single player" or whatever. But when I added my own custom WAD's, I could move to any map I needed to.

But not in 1.09. How do I fix this?

That wasn't a bug, I thought that was an intended tool.

Meh, I'll reprogram it myself and release the changed 1.09 here so others can use it for editing purposes.
 
It works as long as you don't add a wad that has a custom gamedata file (such as Mystic Realm).

If you want a more sure-fire way to turn on map changing, just type in GOD.
 
Cheats disable the protection and the save games.

So it'll let you do it, and won't let you save.
 
There's a much better way to do map changing in single player.

Try this.

Bind 1 "splitscreen on; wait 4; map map01 -force; wait 4; splitscreen off"
Bind 2 "splitscreen on; wait 4; map map02 -force; wait 4; splitscreen off"
Bind 3 "splitscreen on; wait 4; map map03 -force; wait 4; splitscreen off"
Bind 4 "splitscreen on; wait 4; map map04 -force; wait 4; splitscreen off"
Bind 5 "splitscreen on; wait 4; map map05 -force; wait 5; splitscreen off"
Bind 6 "splitscreen on; wait 4; map map06 -force; wait 4; splitscreen off"
Bind 7 "splitscreen on; wait 4; map map07 -force; wait 4; splitscreen off"
Bind 8 "splitscreen on; wait 4; map map08 -force; wait 4; splitscreen off"
Bind 9 "splitscreen on; wait 4; map map09 -force; wait 4; splitscreen off"

It doesn't even say you cheated.
 
Hmm. It'd be nice if there was a way to make it so that you could activate SOME cheats without doing that - as part of a mod, not just for the sake of cheating. Like, say, I want to make a platformer with the engine in which your health is your weapon, much like we have it now, meaning that I'd have to have RINGSLINGER active. If that deactivates saving, though, not even a separate DAT file would help out much...
