Aww... S-...
I posted a reply some time ago, but it didn't post >_>

Ok, replying to everyone, again...
@ blue2389: It looks like you've been banned. When you come back, PM me.
@ those who ask why FF was the first level: No reason. At all.
@ XSpeedGodX: We can't see the image, but the speech lines I gave them in this wad are all original. Although Knux' comment about the giant mushroom is similar to SH's comment, purposely.
@ Eggmanfan: You can mod it, if you want, but as for now there's not much to mod.

Well, good thing I had to repost it, or else I'd have to edit (to avoid double post) to ask you all something:

Help! I'd like a suggestion on how to make a rail (grindable ivy in this case). Of course this isn't native to SRB2, so something else must be made to replace a real rail that the characters can grind on. But what? I need suggestions, and I tried the following:

  • Conveyor belts: at each curve in the rail, the character needs to stop the momentum from the previous direction, or else (s)he'll fall.
  • Adding an invisible FOF to the boundaries of the rail: This requires the player to move forward and turn when necessary, but he won't fall, because there is an invisible FOF at each of the rail's linedefs. But this is too awkward, and the player can jump on top of the invisible FOF.
  • Zoom Tube: Ok, haven't tried this, but it will be bound to be stupid. The player can't control/jump his way out, and the character is spinning during the whole process.
So, ideas, please?

Yes, it seems that leaving the vines out would be the best. Taking that in count, I'm scared to think how Rail Canyon and Bullet Station will be...

About Frog Forest V2, I'm trying to add custom textures but I keep getting an error... >_> Once I figure out what's wrong, I can resume making the level.

EDIT: Ok, I bring some... not so good news. I added the textures to the old Frog Forest, in hopes that it'll look just like Sonic Heroes' Frog Forest and...

It doesn't look like much... :S It may just be me, but it should look more like the original FF. This means that, in FF V2, I'll try to improve texture positioning, but it'll be a level that won't immediately remind you of Frog Forest. Bare with me. In turn, I'll try to make this a good and complex level.

Maybe you could make the vines like the pulleys in ACZ, but one way instead, so that you have to jump from one to another. It may sound crazy, but there are some hangable vines in Frog Forest, so why wouldn't these be?
(Crazy idea, I know.)

Also, those textures indeed look pretty out-of-place. Maybe someone should recolor them, or make them look more SRB2-styled.

Actually, I was talking about the grindable vines. Those vines that the characters will hang on to will be different, and I don't think I'll have a problem with those. But I just knew that the textures wouldn't be right! Bah... I'll have someone else on the team take care of them; I'm up to here with XWE deciding to give random errors and corruptions.

Also, the textures are only there thanks to you Spherallic! I was having that trouble with the missing patch for blah blah blah. Like you said in a topic I found, it was because some patches had spaces in their names. I removed them and it worked. Thanks. (Yet still, I'm having trouble with multi-patched textures, like the sky >_>)

I actually meant that you could make the grinding vines hangable as well, but more like the rope pulleys in ACZ, in the sense that they move you one towards the other. And that you actually have to jump to get to another one, so that you actually have to do something. It would not be true to the original at all, but it could be more fun and a good replacement.

And I'm glad that I could help with the textures. I can also help with the multi-patch ones, if you send the texture and the wad to me.

Ah, I see what you mean, Spherallic. I think that rail like structures are going to be hard (I had a hard time finding good textures for a metal rail, that I will use in Frog Forest, in the beginning). If you don't mind taking care of the sky, I'll PM you the file then.

BTW: STHE123O I didn't notice you were Omega at first! Hi!

Which egg level do you mean, Shawn?
a) Egg Hawk, Egg Albatross and/or Egg Emperor
b) Robot Carnival and/or Robot Storm
c) Egg Fleet and/or Final Fortress?

You mean Egg Fleet. Ok. I'll PM you some directions to start with (because starting with the right textures, and the SRB2 native ones can be quite different), and also to tell you how complex the level should be. And such.

Ok, let's see...

  • Beach levels: Wesley
  • City levels: no one
  • Casino levels: no one, I think
  • Canyon levels: Wesley
  • Forest levels: me
  • Haunted levels: no one
  • Egg levels: Shawnthesponge

Note that this list is most likely wrong. :P But... you could do the city levels like Grand Metropolis and Power Plant, filio.
