a441's site doesn't work, so I need help on editing map headers. Does anyone still have the tutorial or something?

BTW guys, there really is no such thing as a 'map header' anymore - all you do is specify the level information in a SOC, which means if you have something like a level pack (see Mystic realm, I think), you can lump all the level info into MAINCFG or OBJCTCFG. The reason the game reads the MAPxxD lumps is for supposed backwards-compatibility with the way they used to work.

The game's ability to read the MAPxxD lumps will never be removed though, I'm just informing you of another way to do them.

You can also throw other SOC commands into the MAPxxD lumps. Spooky. Note that all the map headers are run at game LOAD, though. If you want to run a particular SOC before a map, you need to have a script called from your map header that calls the RUNSOC console command.
