If I were to start a splitscreen game with a different color that's not the character's default, upon starting the game, the game forces you back to your default color.

This also happens to the second player in Co-Op, and will also happen in every other gametype, save for Team Match and CTF.

Not only split-screen, Multiplayer generally, i find it annoying, Having to change color before joining a Server again everytime you restart the game .

I'm not sure if this is intended behavior or not, but an easy workaround is to put an alias into your autoexec.cfg and bind it to something. Example:

alias colorbind "color red"
bind z colorbind

This will make you red when you press z.

You can use autoexec.cfg to have your color changed to whatever you want automatically. Then when you join a server, you will be your color. Though I'm not sure about the two player bug.
