Ghost_Zero

wow it's toast
I recently upgraded my desktop's Power Supply (350W to 450W), Graphics Card (9600GT), and 2gb of Ram. I excitedly tried to boot my computer, but was greeted with a blinking yellow light upon plugging it in. We investigated the problem, and it's not the ram or graphics card, but instead we found out that the Hard Drive wasn't getting sufficient power. Whether it's the power supply or not, I don't know. The point is, I can't play my games on this laptop and I need help troubleshooting.

If anyone can help, please reply.

Update: I've pinned it down to the PSU, but I'm gonna make sure if it's the problem or not tomorrow.

Hardware list please, 450w is pitiful for most decent rigs these days.

Ahem

The processor fails, I know, but I'm planning to upgrade it to a dual core sometime soon,

Pentium 4 3ghz Processor (ugh)
nVidia GeForce 9600GT
SoundMax sound card, not sure which
160gb SATA harddrive
450W PSU
CD drive and DVD drives are seperate

I used a Power Calculator and it only uses 306W.

You know, because it says it can output 450W doesn't actually mean it can output that much in real world conditions, there's also things like efficiency and power-factor correction as well that can effect power output. Go for something beefier.
