It's time for toaster's titanic technological triumphs (slow internet warning)

I personally hope so. It would feel refreshing to have a new competitive gametype with such simple concept and rules, which makes it easy to imagine players of every skill enjoying it.

It's ambiguous. There's been positive-but-critical responses from some devs and radio silence from others. The biggest obstacle is that it changes the speed of the thok, and Mystic's been pretty vocal about not changing character stats between gametypes. What's less of an obstacle is that the ball currently behaves like a tumbleweed, and that's a bit too floaty and difficult to control for some people. That's not a big problem because we can always just give it more weight, and the only reason we haven't gotten around to that yet is because we're lazy.

Regardless, it would probably be best to discuss thokker in Red's topic (at least until team smiles has more to show off ;D ) since he spearheaded the project and is responsible for the core code.

I really don't like it very much...I can tell you put a lot of effort into this, but I just don't like it very much...

...having to wait until I can actually play this level, that is. Neat enemy. Just curious, could the player spindash underneath the grabber thing?

Same, and Sonic Adventure. Anyways, I like a lot. Really I like the Toaster stuff a lot.

Fun fact: Everything about this level is a thinly-veiled love letter to Sonic Heroes.

That's some of the best enemy design I've ever seen in this game.

Xkower, you are incorrect. Relying on SOC functions alone is too inflexible for my tastes. The bigger crawlas are the same object type as the smaller ones, and the whole mechanism was constructed using several Lua functions and hooks.

Anyone remember Danger Forest? Golden Ruins was my favourite 1.09.4 mod, and so as part of Team Smiles I've brought it back to life as a thokker field. I've also contributed another map, but I'm not revealing that one on the forums yet.

Cool and different! Maybe you could add a big increaes in velocity upon kicking it, or damage upon collision, kind of like the mega ball from MM8BDM?

How did I miss that?
I love how its eye makes it look like it's surprised to see Sonic escaping, maybe adding a kind of "tear" or even those Sonic Heroes bubbles?

But, that's just me.

So if this stage is a love letter for Sonic Heroes so why not adding those bubbles!

While it is a love letter to Heroes, I'm making an effort to stay within SRB2's established style. To that end, the KLAGEN has the same worry sweat drops that come off Dr Eggman's head during the non-Brak bosses. A recreation of the bubble mechanic wholesale would be distracting and not work with the style. I'm not adding team mechanics to this, either, so.

Also, the ball is getting some changes, but none as drastic as that.

If it makes you hate yourself less, that's really nice so far. I only feel that the ceiling could use something, like light bulbs or something of the sorts. That would help making it feel more casino like.

You mean like a chandelier?

Why yes, a chandelier would fit in nicely... although I have no idea how that would be made in SRB2.
