Is it me or does the corners of those boxes look much pointier rather than rounded off? I wouldn't like it if the boxes were that pointy at the corners

Yeah they would but I also think those coloured squares are quite cool actually, because it looks like a nice blend of old and new. And why not make the elemental shield icon look like a sonic heroes emblem but with a water drop on the blue bit and fire on the red bit. I haven't thought of what could go with yellow...the elemental shield dosen't protect you from energy fields...

Why can't anyone know that the Earth is full of elements? Its perfect for the elemental shield in my opinion.
 
Guys, stop bitching about the monitors, they look fine. The Elemental icon needs work, though, since it's impossible to distinguish from the others at even a slight distance. Use a more vibrant green.
 
Hey, I heard you guys talking about Earth not very much looking like an "Element" shield, so I thought I'd take a crack at something.

Maybe something like this, that shows what you're immune against (Fire, Electricity, and Water-related damage) and is more easily distinguishable from the other Item monitors? I don't know, I just wanted to work on Windows 7 Paint.

I hate Windows 7 Paint.
 
Personally, I think a leaf would work better, since I think the elemental shield will use leaf sprites eventually.
 
The new monitors are clearly superior in every way compared to the old ones, no doubt. Though the icons could REALLY do without the ugly banding and pillow shading, bad color usage, and unnecessary shades, like everywhere.

I personally am not satisfied with the ring I made, but I'm generally never satisfied with Ring monitor sprites...

EDIT: I suggest for 2.1 all star-posts in Circuit race should be replaced with these, like in Sonic 3&K.
It's really been bugging me since 1.09.4 so much, to where I actually became desperate enough to sprite it out and show the team:

I know everyone is excited and all about 2.1, but the monitor bull needs to stop. I mean, they're just monitors. Its not like if they don't look perfect its going to be the end of the world. I don't even think STJr is going to change the sprites, so please stop the bitching. Just, leave it how it is.

Also, nice sprites @Iceman.

When you say Monitor bull, do you mean that we shouldn't criticize the actual design of them or the sprite flaws in the icons that I pointed out?

If this is saying that people are trying to replace most of the monitor sprites, then yes. Also. I think your sprites would fit, but I don't think STJ will add them...

I don´t know why people think they are not classic. The only thing that isn´t classic is the Sonic shoe, and even the shoe buckles were there on many classic artworks:

It´s inconsistent though with SRB2 design, and the sole being white it´s clearly a modern Sonic thing. But the rest look awesome and classic.

SRB2 is going to be good of course, STJ is very creative.
 
From what I've heard about the new update, there's going to be a new boss (EGGSCAULIBER)?
 
Yes, but it's not quite finished yet. That and an unfinished path for Knuckles in CEZ1 are holding 2.1's release back if I'm not mistaken.
