I just got done trying to replicate this problem myself, using my main desktop with an Nvidia GPU (GTS 450, to be exact). Everything appeared like it should. So yeah, having an Intel GPU could be the problem here.

Intel GPU apparently has problems with OpenGL skyboxes so we've discovered.

Not sure if this is something that can be fixed so easily since Intel GPU's are quite poor and it seems to be an issue specific to them... You could try updating the graphics drivers and see if it helps, otherwise you'll need to turn skyboxes off with the skybox command.

Updating the graphics drivers seem to fixed it, at least for me.
