custom character editing

Hey I was wondering if I can edit custom characters that I downloaded so can you tell me if I can and if so then how? :?
 
Use XWE. Didn't you know that? get XWE then set the IWAD to srb2.srb and export the sprites and edit them, then import them back into the wad at the same lumps. Start there, everyone has. Next time you come around I recommend you think. :P
 
Read the SRB2Wiki, it has links to the beta version, which is what you want. It has support for lowercase lumps.

On a side note. XWE is only hard to use if you don't understand it, which is what you're saying right now. Read the tutorial carefully, don't just scan through it. Eventually you'll understand.
 
What tutorial? I've had XWE longer than Doom Builder and I just learned today that the little box that appears on start-up is asking for the IWAD. I haven't found one yet.
