Oh no, they don't.

The Rules said:
12. Do not post recolors, sprite rips, music replacements, or timer socs.

. Recolors, or edited versions of the official character sprites, are extremely disliked. Making fan characters or bad edits of official characters is almost always bad, and has a great lack of creativity. Don't make them, and if you do, don't release them. People just don't like them.
. Sprite rips, where you simply take a sprite from another game, which generally doesn't look anything like the art in SRB2, and put it into an SRB2 character. While it's possible to make a good sprite rip into a character, it almost always looks awful. Don't do this unless you know exactly what you're doing.
. Music WADs, or WAD files containing music lumps to change the soundtrack for SRB2, just aren't interesting. They're also potential copyright violations, so they are banned from the forums entirely. If you post one, it will simply be deleted.
. Timer SOCs, or SOC files that only edit the time periods for certain things, like Invincibility or drowning, are pointless, and anyone can make them.

These types of WADs are frowned upon, and frequently will lead to your link removed and topic locked. Even if that doesn't happen, you will get a negative reaction, because nobody really likes to play them.

This is also highly frouned upon. Make something that hasn't been done before, and isn't overpowered, reused, and/or a timer soc.

Oh, and i'm not gonna download it for those reasons.

I see your point, but I am sure for the soc editor, *the EditHud Coordinates* is supposed to work, not say Run-time error '53':
File not Found.

Same for
Edit things, edit states, edit cutscenes and edit sounds.
So to be honest, timers are the only things I can do at the moment.

EDIT: Unless I can find another way to make socs.

Extract SRB2Src1094 into a folder called src, then point the Soc Editor to that folder for the source code. Then you can edit that other stuff.

Thanks! :) but....do I have to create the folder or is it there?

EDIT: Where can I find the folder called src? Do I have to create it?

ok, with help I did it, now....there are files and folders and they say
bin,data,doc,extras,objs,src and tools.

So I go in src and there are lots of text documents, but folder are
djgppdos,dummy,hardware,sdl and win32

And now I dont know what to do, where do I put the soc editor?

Wow, this SOC is AWESOME!

...
hahaha just kidding. Seriously, you KNOW timers fail; you make them anyways, why? Make a unique one, like the Mario Hammer SOC I made.

Ok, I'll do that as soon as I've done all this, a mario hammer? I wonder how you made that? Well I'm still a n00b pretty much so I dont understand, but then again, most beginners do not understand.

No, you extract SRB2Src1094 to somewhere. SRB2Src1094 makes a folder called src. Then all you do is point the Soc Editor to that folder.

oh, because I made a folder called src and all this new stuff downloaded in there, and now I am trying to point the soc editor to it, and its opened a buch of folders, and even if I leave it on src it still says runtime error,
but when I just done the new folder all new things downloaded.

BOOOOOOOYAH!

Thanks for your help guys! I have finally done it!

(which isnt exciting for other people....)

a mario hammer?
Yeah, the throwable ones. The arc was funky though.

Anyways, what kind of SOC will you make next? But first, try screwing with the objects and actions so you can get a clue on what's happening.

ok, right now I want to make a character select screen for a wad I like, so I need to know how to add socs to wads.

And remember, I found it hard just making a timer, but look at how many people have visited, anyone of them could of downloaded it.

But no one comes to my online servers anymore...:(

Ok, please tell me how to add a soc to a wad.

P.S. how did he make a mario hammer? was it already there or did he draw it so he can like throw a cola bottle?
