Help with wads on a Mac OS X.

First of all I do not know where to put the wads so that the game can find them when I put in "ADDFILE". Second and lastly, I think the wads need to be compressed but I don't have the application to compress it. Any links to where I can find a program to compress them?

I wished I had my old windows computer T_T.
