As most of you know, I have recently set up a TrackMania Nations Forever server for us to use. This is the thread where you can comment on the server and suggest new tracks for the server admins to add.

The SuperAdmin on the server is yours truly. I can startup or stop the server. MattW_CFI is an admin on the server.

Use this link to join the server directly from your PC: tmtp:///#join=srb2nf <-- In case that doesn't work for whatever reason. Search in: USA > Missouri section. (Use the "All button" in the play online menu)

Server status: (Style designed by FoxBlitzz)

More information on what TrackMania is plus the download link to Nations Forever is at the bottom of this post.

Here is a screenshot of the server in action:

The tracks that this server currently has is the Nations Forever tracks from the A - B section and the stadium race tracks from the United Forever A - B section. This also includes a few custom maps.

There is server controller software installed that gives you guys these powers:

* A jukebox where you can pick a track from the list that the server has for the server to play next
* A lottery hosted by Eggman himself! (TrackMania United users only)
* A track voting system if you like the track or not after you finish it at least 4 times
* Local track records that you make on here are saved in a database

What I would really like from you folks is to make custom textures for the Stadium Environment so we can have some "SRB2 Exclusive" tracks to make it awesome.

Here is a link to get you started:

If you want to help me find some tracks to use, here are two websites that are helpful:

http://tmnforever.tm-exchange.com/
http://united.tm-exchange.com/

If you find a track that you think is suitable from those two sites, tell me what site and the track ID. For example:

http://tmnforever.tm-exchange.com/main.aspx?action=trackshow&id=1298941#auto

What I bolded is the info I need so I can add the tracks from inside the server. You can still post links for me to test. I have only one requirement for now: The track must have an author time that is longer than 30 seconds. I will not add short "LOL" tracks.

Here is the information on what TM is:

TrackMania

TrackMania is a racing game, but it is not like the ones where you just race around and do a million laps. It is a game where you have a start and a finish and in order to get there, you have to go through loops, do a wall ride, take and land jumps, get around tough corners, avoid hazards like a barrier or wall, etc... If you have heard of "Stunts" or "Racing Destruction Set", this along with other similar games from that era inspired the developers behind this game to make this one. This game has been around for a few years already and has won six awards in the "Guinness World Records" of 2008. The game includes a track editor that is well developed since you can do things other than just making a custom track like make a screen shake or have some text show when you are at a certain part in the track. It also has multiplayer over the internet where you can play thousands upon thousands of custom made tracks against other people.

There are two versions of the game. One of them is freeware, the other is a paid one.

The freeware version is called: TrackMania: Nations Forever
The paid one is called: TrackMania: United Forever

Both games have a few differences. I'll explain the main ones:

* One is freeware, the other you have to pay for
* Freeware has one environment (Stadium) TMUF has seven in total
* In TMUF, you can TA on the leader boards
* Nations players have no Coppers (In-game currency that can be used to buy player-made skins and tracks among other things)

P.S Use this link to format your ingame nickname: http://tutorials.tm-creative.org/general_formattingtext/
If you want to add our clantag before your nick, copy and paste this text: $w$fb0[SRB2]

IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO YOUR ACCOUNT NAME!

It only applies to your ingame name under the "Profile" menu.

I went on it and raced against someone (Cant remember there name). I'm wondering, is it possible to race on self made levels on this server? I'm curious to see how people will do on my track.

If you upload it to something like TMX, I can add the track directly from inside the server. If you want, you can give me a link here so I can test it beforehand, but I'd rather use something like TMX.

TMX is this site for the nations forever tracks: http://tmnforever.tm-exchange.com/

The track is alright for a first timer. However, I noticed a major issue...

Your TM account name is the weirdest thing that I have ever seen...

_w_fbo_srb2__chazer127 <-- You only use that editing on the nickname box ingame, not your account name... You better remake the account and then open and save the track and it should change the author to the new account author.

I won't add the map because that author name is so horribly done wrong.

I added this to my first post so this won't happen again with other people.

My first post update said:
IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO YOUR ACCOUNT NAME!

It only applies to your ingame name under the "Profile" menu.

To make it even more clear:

This is my account name: sonict
This is my ingame nick: $w$Fb0[SRB2]$44FSonict

Do you understand now?

Oh, You have to update your map on TMX too once you correct the issue that I mentioned about your account name above.

Sonict, not adding a track because the author name is unusual is one of the strangest things I've ever seen in my entire TM career.

Seriously, that error is extremely common. And to fix it, he'd have to give up whatever he's done both Solo and Online.

Also, looks like I get another dime because someone else messed up a link to TMX. I'm steadily getting richer! =P

True, but I'm pretty sure he only started the account a few days ago so it wouldn't take long to catch up again. Plus, I'm trying to help him avoid the bad looks. Sure, I could add it now, but I'd rather help him out first.

Either way, I'll have to wait for his answer.

Good. Much better. :) I dunno why you made a new TMX account, but since I have never signed up for it, I have no idea how it works. I like the improvement you made to that track. Not bad for a first track.

I have added the track to the SRB2.org server.

No. You need a valid online key. It is just like any other game out there. You could play the single player levels off-line, but you would miss out on everything else.

Hey, guys. Just a small status report.

I am still going on servers and getting some more stadium maps and as I get more custom maps, I am removing the Nadeo ones.

Right now, I am trying to get a server status script image working so you can see things like how many players are on, what track it is on, etc... Apparently, this is possible on some remote web based software that I have uploaded already on the website. I am currently running into an issue with it and have posted about it on the TM Forum. Once this is resolved, I will add the status picture to my first post here so you can look at it without going on TM before joining it.

Just a small update. I got the server status script working. I currently don't like the style atm though. I did a few minor edits to it such as making the font size bigger and changing the server name colour to how it is shown in game.

I got someone trying to made it nicer. I hope it turns out well.

What is your account name, SonicMaster? Mine is "sonict". I might as well add you to my friend list.

Edit. I just tried it out myself and I was at the main menu. It worked for me. Maybe the third slash is confusing the web browser somehow even though it shouldn't.
