Whenever Blaze jumps I hear that Right There, Ride On from Sonic Rush play. Did you take record from the game or something or... what?
(If anyone is reading this now I already figured it out...)

Sound effects and other suggestions

Okay for the jump ability i would suggest a similar ability and jump to sonic rush adventures style and i would use the flare jump sound from the game as well or a slightly softer/more mellow version of it, and for running frames, if you could depict the flames that dance about her tunic as she runs, that would really blow Dr. peppers out of the park. So far though this is incredibly impressive, it actually maintains a small feeling that it was meant for SRB2, without having to conform to the style normally used.

I like where its going and I'm not really good with pointing out and describing details but something doesn't feel right when I look at the image of the damage sprite... like the body is... how I can I put it...? Slanted... like a slash and again, I'm not really good at pointing it out.

I feel characters should remain consistent and that SH-Sonic is absolute shit. You CAN have everyone have their own style, but why would you want to? It just makes the art style of the game inconsistent. It's like trying to stick a jigsaw piece into the wrong spot in a completely different puzzle. It just doesn't fit.

hmmmm... Srb2 doesnt really have an art style. see look-https://mail-attachment.googleusercontent.com/attachment/u/0/?ui=2&ik=b3adb2dbe3&view=att&th=13bf786011a8f246&disp=imgs&saduie=AG9B_P8PtGXxhvQAO4Y8dyo6tpwH&sadet=1357067615271&sads=bEnH1_RTLy6fRXP5u5C8S7LvZJY&sadssc=1

No, it very clearly does. Textures are a bit inconsistent with mixed "somewhat realistic" and hand-drawn ones, but the sprites are still mostly consistent with eachother. Also, I can't read your mail attachments.

Character sprites have a slightly different style from enemy sprites, being based in hand-drawn art instead of pixel art. It's just expected that characters will look like what the base characters look like, and what they have looked like for the past decade. The characters are the piece of art you look at most when you play, and therefore are the thing people pay most attention to. Any changes in the character style run straight up against the perception of what characters should be. People like Hinote and Chrispy have dead-on nailed the character sprite style with their character WADs.

Enemies in 2.0 have a consistent sprite style, but it's a different one than the characters. We've accepted this as one of the defining aspects of SRB2, and indeed, the new monitors in 2.1 fall in line with the enemy style. This phases out one of the few remaining instances of the "ugly unfitting spriterip" style and creates more consistency gamewise. When you see the enemy sprite style, it indicates "something to jump on". When you see the flat style that most scenery objects take, you ignore the objects. When you see the character style, it's something to take care of or shoot.

Progress = 40%

So looking into Dr.Pepper's Blaze the Cat, I was a little disappointed on how it looked (as you see Blaze is one of my favorites; what.. She's a cat on fire.) and so I thought of maybe doing a new Blaze the Cat for 2.0 with the right color scheme.

I've just started, so there isn't a lot yet.

Here's the WIP stuff.. Pictures..

That monitor box and a closer look into what it looks in game.

If you're interested to see what is currently in it, here is a very early beta download: http://www.sendspace.com/file/6tq1kj

As far as ability goes, I don't know what I should do yet.
If anyone knows or has a better Blaze jump sound, please share if you like! Kind of having trouble finding one.

cat on fire!! (ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...)
that give me a reason to put blaze in my fave. character list.

also, as always, nice work on those sprites. (should`ve posted this earlier...)
