Im new, and I have this character im working on...

Okay Im new, and this sprite probably wont look that good... (I have spriting experience, but I sprite in genisis or sonic advance style)

Tell my what you think, its my first sprite for my wad. And is there a way to send me a sprite sheet over the inernet? I think Im missing some sprites.
 
That sprite is just a partly Sonic recolour. Recolours arn't cool as they are wads which have lack of effort, and have no value to them. Also, most tend to be overpowered.
 
HOWEVER, that's actually a pretty good recolor. Not all recolors are inherently bad--if you change the character enough, it's cool. You seem to have done that.

Doesn't matter, the fact is it's still a recolour. Try drawing it from scratch, and give him a different look from them SRB2 Sonic look a likes, then you may get different responses.

I cant draw... but for some strange reason I can sprite. This makes absuloutly no sence to me, but its fact. I'll be completely honest, no one here is interested in playing as your fancharacter. It looks to me like a generic, boring recolor of Sonic. (And yes, those little edits still make it recolor.)

Unless you can devise some particularly interesting abilities or something, I wouldn't bother.

I just hate making remakes... or making characters noone really likes. =/
 
You guys are being really harsh. Most recolors don't turn out well, but some do. Give him a chance--it looks original enough.
 
I'll try to touch things up alittle bit... make it more orignal.

Senku was a fancharacter, and he became very popular, so you know.

your right. O.o;; I'll need to work on it some more... sorry tapika. XS does anyone have a sheet for the orignal sonic sprites? I have some work to do. X_X
 
No trouble. This is pretty good for a first attempt... and pretty good for an edit, too.

Senku isn't a fancharacter, he just made his human character fit in to the style of Srb2.

How are we being harsh?, we are giving critisism, and advise in a way. Also, how does it look original? It's edited off a Sonic sprite, and looks like it too. Let's say I put 2 cards on the table. One is Sonic, the other is a Sonic edit/recolour (doesn't matter how much work is put on editing the particular sprite) would you say the 2nd card is a recolour? you tell me. Drawing it from scratch however is maybe exceptional.

I hate to break it to you, but telling someone "Your idea stinks, create something original" is not constructive advice. The sprite definitely needs work, and when I said it's "original" I actually meant "different enough so that it's not worth scrapping entirely." But I still think the way you laid it on him was a bit harsh. Perhaps we can offer him some SPECIFIC advice.
