I'm gonna ignore the above post and continue on with mine.

Instead of Knuckles a constant Pink, you could make his frames animated sorta like: Red -> Pink -> White -> Pink -> and Red again like that.

You can't do that, you'd need several standing frames, several running frames, etc. It'd make more sense to have a script to constantly change from white to pink to red to pink to white.

Its pretty cool. Maybe you should release a version were knuckles can punch/kick ect. that would be awesome. But seriously, great job.

errrm... That's not possible. All skins do is alter the sprites, and assign an ability. But I bet he could make him punch the air for his tap sprites!
