It is a rumour, Sony comfirmed that it was just a PS3 technical demo (The opening movie), and that the game will not be remade for the system.

Yes, it's a rumor. Gamespot posted a news article and a game section FOR the rumor. That doesn't make it any less a rumor. Especially when Yōichi Wada, Yoshinori Kitase, and the Square-Enix PA department all denied the idea of a remake.
