Tails is Not a Female although he has a high pitched voice. his voice is more broken in Sonic Adventure DX

1. If he was a girl, amy would not have been invented.
2. He's always called Sonic's friend and NOT girlfriend... :?

from the Sonic advance 3 manual (more or less):

A young boy fow, whom sonic considers like a favourite little brother


and from sonic riders:
