Spikes Slinging Rings in the Air

I don't know why this happens but how do I fix it? I mean it looks cool but I certainly know this is not supposed to happen.

That was the first issue I had when the spikes were juggling each other but that's not a problem now:

Hm. This is a stupid idea, but it works. How about placing an invisible FOF above that spikes and the small area around it, so that the rings shoot up, hit the FOF thats not seeable to the player, and they fall down. Stupid, and creates a big problem for Tails and Knuckles, but would be almost perfect with Sonic.
 
If you're going that approach, might as well give the FOF the Spike Damage sector type and make the spikes themselves non-solid.
 
So I have the Spike sector and I'm really confused on how to make the spike textures appear.
